gabe kaplanRegional presidentHi guys! My name is Gabe Kaplan, I’m so incredibly excited to serve as your 2020-2021 Regional President!!! I’m currently a junior at St. Louis Park High School and from the absolutely amazing BERUSY chapter in Minneapolis, MN! I sometimes forget how to spell my name, but I really like jellyfish so it’s ok. I can’t wait to work this year to make Emtza an inclusive and empowering home for all, and I’m so excited to get going! Although we encountered some hurdles earlier this past year, I think we are better for them and are on track to have a second year of growth and success. Last year’s regional board did an incredible job of engaging with the region, and I’d like to continue that momentum into this year. I can’t wait to see you all again (hopefully) soon!

anna clauerregional executive vice presidentHey buddies! I’m Anna Clauer and I'm STOKED to be your 2020-2021 Executive Vice President! I am currently a junior at Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy—a super small Jew school, in Kansas City! Speaking of KC, I could not be happier that I am part of the kool, krazy, and knowledgeable KCUSY! If you ever need to find me—look up! I’m probably in a tree. My most prized possessions are my yellow crocs, and I love hugs. I am so excited for this next year in Emtza and I want to help make sure that Emtza is an open and welcoming place where everyone can find their passions! I ran for this position because USY is my second home. The experiences we get at conventions and chapter programs are invaluable, and I want to help make sure that everyone can see that! I know this year is going to be amazing!

abby kreislerregional israel affairs vice presidentHey EMTZA!!!! I’m Abby Kreisler and I am beyond excited to be your 2020-2021 Israel Affairs Vice President!! I am currently a Junior at Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy (go rams) in Overland Park, Kansas, and am a proud part of the crazy kehillah that is KCUSY. When I’m not at lounge nights eating cheese balls, you can find me frolicking the soccer field or cross country course. My favorite foods include sushi, dairy-free ice cream, and peaches. You can often catch me on the floor or flat on my face because I’m clumsy to say the least (yes-I fell off the table and sprained my ankle after this picture was taken). I’m very pumped for the upcoming year and am excited to implement some new aspects to Israel programming. I chose to run for this position not only because I am incredibly passionate and love learning about Israel, but because I want every USYer to feel that way and find how they can connect with and discover their own love for Israel. It’s gonna be a great year and I can’t wait to see you all!!

ellior roseregional religion education vice presidentHeyyyy Emtza!!! My name is Ellior Rose and I am so excited to be your 2020-2021 Religion/Education Vice President!!! I am currently a sophomore at Whitfield School in Saint Louis, Missouri. I am also a part of the beaming, bonkers, and bananatastic Bnai Amoona USY (BAUSY). When I am not at shul, you can catch me playing sports, watching Netflix, or hanging out with friends. I go to Camp Ramah in Wisconsin, and I recently came back from a semester abroad in Israel through TRY. I also love eating sushi and my all-time favorite dessert is chocolate molten lava cake. I chose to run for Rel/Ed because I want to make services and religious programming both fun and meaningful for everyone. I think it is important that we continue on with our Emtza traditions and make sure that the future of Emtza is prepared to lead services, Ruach, Sloach, and Tisch. I hope we can accomplish these goals together and I can’t wait for this upcoming year!

david smithregional social action tikun olam vice presidentWassup EMTZA! My name is David Smith and I am so so excited to be your SA/TO for the 2020-21 year. Currently, I am a sophomore at Parkway Central High School in St. Louis, Missouri. At home, I am a part of the beautiful, bodacious, boujee, bonkers B'nai Amoona USY (BAUSY). Some silly facts about me are I can hyperextend my elbows, I go to the amazing Herzl Camp in Wisconsin, I play tennis and run cross country and am involved in JSU at my school. If I am not eating at my house, you can catch me eating sushi and poke (kosher of course) and getting some frozen custard from Ted Drewes. I decided to run for SA/TO because I really want to grow your passions for saving the world, enough so that you can pass your ideas and passion onto others. I love EMTZA because it is truly a place where I can be my most authentic self, and I get to spend time with my closest friends. I am so excited to work with you all this year and I hope to get to know you all better. Together we can and will change the world!!

halle wassermanregional membership kadima vice presidentHeyyyy!! My name is Halle Wasserman and I can’t wait to be your 2020-2021 Membership/Kadima VP!! I am so excited for this year! Currently, I am a sophomore at Whitfield and am from the beautiful, bouncy, brave, brilliant, and beaming BAUSY in St. Louis! I love playing field hockey and lacrosse, cooking some pretty yummy food (and eating it), watching Netflix, and hanging out with my friends!! This past semester, I went on TRY but during the summer, I go to Camp Alonim in California! If I had to pick only three foods to eat for the rest of my life, they would probably be pasta, sushi, and cookies. One fun fact about me is that I trip over air a lot! I’m super excited to work on increasing membership in chapters and the region, and to implement a few more Kadima programs throughout the year! I can’t wait to work with the FLC too!! This year is about to be amazing and I can’t wait to see everyone soon!

ayelet prottasregional communications vice presidentHey Emtza! My name is Ayelet Prottas and I am super excited to be your 2020-2021 Comm VP for this year! Currently, I am a sophomore at St. Louis Park High School and am a part of the DoughBoy loving BERUSY in Minneapolis, MN! When I am not in front of my screen creating infographics, you can find me on the softball field, watching Netflix, scrolling through TikTok, or trying out new pescatarian recipes! Fun fact about me, I am prone to getting injured at Emtza Conventions! I have an unhealthy obsession with the Seattle Seahawks, sushi, and avocados. I am super excited to increase Emtza’s online presence! Be on the lookout for some cool content on the Emtzagram! I am so excited for this upcoming year! I am so eager to reunite with my Emtza family! I miss that in-person #emtzalove!
