EMTZA is the Midwestern region of USY, USCJ’s youth movement.
For more than 60 years, USY has taught young Jews the values and skills they need to become exceptional leaders in their religious and secular communities. USY empowers youth to develop friendships, leadership skills, a sense of belonging to the Jewish People, and a commitment to inspired Jewish living through meaningful and fun experiences rooted in Conservative Judaism’s approach to learning, spiritual expression, and social responsibility.
Through year-round programming and domestic and international travel opportunities, USY inspires in teens a deep sense of pride and love for their Jewish identity.
About EMTZA USY
EMTZA region spans from Colorado to St. Louis and from Kansas City up to Minneapolis. EMTZA has chapters in synagogues throughout the region that provide local programming.
Regionally, EMTZA holds five conventions that enable teens to come spend Shabbat together, learn and have tons of fun!
Throughout the year in a variety of settings, USY allows teens learn about Judaism and Israel, do social action projects, give tzedakah, and enjoy other social programming with their peers.
USY empowers Jewish youth to develop friendships, leadership skills, a sense of belonging to the Jewish People, a deep engagement with and love for Israel, and a commitment to inspired Jewish living through meaningful and fun experiences based on the ideology of an authentic and dynamic Judaism.
